Holiday Networking Extravaganza

December 8, 2009

Vida Seniors Centers extends a sincere thank you to BNI for naming Vida Senior Centers the recipient of donations received at the Holiday Networking Extravaganza on December 8. We also give special recognition to Toro Mata-the Art of Perú for hosting the event at their store location filled with beautiful gifts from countries throughout Latin America.

Vida Senior Centers has a tradition of providing winter clothing to seniors during the cold weather months. This seasonal gift of warmth was threatened this year by the economic climate. The generous donations of BNI’s guests helped to provide hats and gloves to seniors in need this season, allowing Vida to keep our holiday tradition alive.

It was a great pleasure to celebrate the holidays with this generous group of DC professionals.

Annual Conference

“Working Together for a Common Aging Agenda”

 October 6 and 7, 2009

Vida staff and seniors attended the NHCOA Annual Conference October 6 and 7 at the Hotel Marriot Washington at Metro Center, in Washington, DC.

It was a great honor for VIDA to take part in this year’s awards ceremony where we received the Community-Based Organization Award in recognition of our contributions to the Hispanic community.

Vida staff held a table at the conference health fair where we checked blood pressure and glucose levels for over 100 seniors from the DC metro area and around the country.
