Exercise and Dance
Within the range of services provided as part of Vida’s Wellness Program are exercise and dance. Weekly exercise classes designed specifically for seniors with different ranges of mobility, and led by seniors themselves, help inspire and stimulate abuelitos to move.
Dance classes extend beyond the healthy exercise factor. They foster a social and cultural exchange. Each week, abuelitos bring to Vida popular music from their countries of origin and learn with each other the steps of their corresponding dances. The resulting mix is an activity that includes everyone and represents all nations. One of the most successful dance programs has been “Tango for Life,” where seniors learn to dance tango for its social value and health benefits.
